ToE instaserf Andrew Callaway gets invited to do a TED ALPHA Talk on the sharing economy.  Mary Gray (a real sharing economy expert) explains why we are anxious about the future of work and Ignacio Uriarte leaves his cubicle to make post-office art.

It is a shame that Andrew was invited to speak at TED ALPHA and not Prof. Gray (a real expert) or someone who actually does regular sharing economy work and depends on that for their income, without media exposure or other forms of income. He seems self deprecating around the absurdity that he was chosen to speak at this prestigious event, and yet he did not really critique this choice or question whether the spot should go to a real expert or someone with more serious “sharing economy” experience. I also do wonder how many women were asked to speak at TED ALPHA, but I guess we’ll never know.

“YES! Magazine” Call for Submissions for “The Gig Economy”. It sounds like a great opportunity to multiply the effort from TOE’s insta-cerf, “sharing economy” pieces
